Update: The UK release of Disney+ has now moved to March 24, 2020.

The Disney+ streaming service comes to the UK on March 24, 2020 - and here’s how viewers can watch it. Disney CEO Bob Iger operates under a policy of “innovate, or die” - and as such, he’s led Disney into one of the most radical, transformative moments in their history. The film giant is launching its own streaming service, Disney+, intended to disrupt the streaming industry and cement Disney’s position in the entertainment sector for decades to come.

The House of Mouse has recently announced that Disney+ will launch in the UK market on March 24, 2020. This delayed rollout is due to a number of factors, most prominently Disney’s need to allow their historic distribution deal with Sky to expire. At first glance this delay is disappointing news for potential British subscribers, but it’s worth noting that Disney is rolling out pretty quickly. Naturally, though, all this means that viewers are eager to know just how they’ll be able to watch Disney+.

At present, there is no way for people in the UK to watch Disney+ when it launches in the U.S. on November 12, 2019, as the Disney+ UK website only allows subscribers to register their interest. Disney+ shows won’t be broadcast anywhere else either, so all would-be viewers can do is wait. After the service goes live in March, though, people will be able to sign up with their email and debit/credit card information. Initial pricing for Disney+ has been set at £5.99 a month, or £59.99 a year. The old Disney Life streaming service, which operates exclusively in the UK and the Philippines, will convert to Disney+; subscribers will receive more details in an email. Disney+ will be available on:

Disney has confirmed that Disney+ content will vary by region, probably due to complications with regaining distribution rights. Still, the UK release will be similar to the US, with five hubs: Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic. A number of Disney+ originals are due to release in the US before Disney+ hits the UK, including The Mandalorian, and it’s safe to assume they’ll be available on UK launch.
