Hall is a forensic technician specializing in bloodstain pattern analysis for the Miami Metro Police Department with a second life as a serial killer who only kills murderers who have escaped through the cracks of the justice system. The series consists of Dexter slowly unraveling his story of being a vigilante serial killer while at the same leading a normal life and helping the police solve crimes. This show is based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay.

With an IMDb rating of 8.7 out of 10, it has managed to hook the viewers so much so that when Showtime announced season eight to be the final season of Dexter, the season eight premiere became the most-watched Dexter episode with more than 3 million viewers.
