  • Voice Match

Below, I will present you everything you need to know about these functions of Smart Unlock on Galaxy S10, S10E, and S10 Plus.

  • On-body Detection
  • Trusted Places
  • Trusted Devices
  • Voice Match

On-body Detection Smart Lock

The On-body Detection Smart Lock on Galaxy S10 employs the accelerometer and gyroscope sensors to detect if the smartphone is inside your pocket or in a bag.

This option will keep your phone unlocked for as long as you’re moving, but only if you unlocked it using another method. When you stop moving, the On-body Detection Smart Lock will automatically lock your phone.

This feature will learn the way you’re walking or moving around, and it will decide for itself if it will either unlock or lock the Galaxy S10 device.

Trusted Places

Trusted Places is another feature of the Smart Lock on Galaxy S10, S10E, and S10 Plus. It would keep your smartphone unlocked as long as you are in one of the places that you set up as safe. Once you move outside that area, the phone would automatically lock itself.

Keep in mind that, usually, Trusted Places Smart Lock maintains your smartphone unlocked within 80 meters around the precise point that you set up as secure. That means you can use this function in a flat or office that does not exceed 80 meters in radius.

Trusted Devices Smart Lock

This Trusted Devices Smart Lock feature is useful when you’re frequently using Bluetooth devices paired with your Galaxy S10, S10E, and S10 Plus. As long as a previously trusted device is connected to your Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone, this feature will maintain your phone unlocked.

Keep in mind that this Trusted Devices Smart Lock function is directly linked to a Bluetooth connection. Once the Bluetooth link is lost, this feature will stop working, and your Galaxy S10 device would automatically lock itself.

Voice Match feature

The Voice Match Smart Lock on Galaxy S10, S10E, and S10 Plus can only be set up if you have previously set up a Google Assistant account since it works with the “OK, Google!” phrase.

Once you set up Voice Match, Google Assistant will be listening to the voices it detects, and using a lot of computing power will recognize if your voice is among them. If your voice is not identified, then the smartphone will automatically lock itself. This option is not the most recommended one since it might lead to a battery draining issue.

The before-mentioned steps will help you use Smart Unlock on Galaxy S10, S10E, and S10 Plus. We hope you found this guide useful.
