I’ll be using a marquee tool to highlight text in a document for future reference.

When the cursor changes shape, release the mouse button. The marquee will fill the area with a white border. To delete the marquee, select it with the Selection Tool (V) and press Delete.

To use the single row marquee tool in Photoshop, first select the tool from the toolbar and then drag a selection around the area you want to mark as your selection. Once you’ve made your selection, release the mouse button and Photoshop will fill in the selection with a blue border.

To use the single column marquee tool in Photoshop, first select the tool from the toolbar and then click and drag across the area you want to marquee.

A rectangular marquee tool is best used for selecting objects in a photograph.
