How to use gestures for iPhone X and later versions

There are various gestures that Apple has provided in an iPhone X and later. Let’s check each one by one and make use of it.

  • Go Home

When we are operating any task on an iPhone, and if you want to go home quickly, then you can use this gesture. To perform this function, you have to swipe from the center bottom of your phone to the top.

 

  • Quick access to control center

During surfing, if there is a need for access to the iPhone control center, then you can access it by just swiping down from the top right corner of the iPhone. You can touch and hold the control to reveal more items. If you want to customize your control center, then you can go to Settings>Control Center>Customize Controls.

  • Open the app switcher and switch between apps

To open the app switcher, you can swipe from the bottom center to the center of your screen and lift your finger. You can now have access to the app switcher. If you want to switch between the app, then you can swipe left or right and click on the app to switch.

  • A completely new way to summon the Siri

You can say “Hey Siri” to ask, or you can hold down the side button to ask. Siri will listen to you until you release the side button.

  • Use Apple Pay

To use Apple Pay, you can simply double-click the side button, and you will see your default credit card on your screen. Now glance at the iPhone to authenticate with your Face ID.

  • Use Accessibility

To use accessibility, you can click the side button three times.

To take the Screenshot, you can simultaneously press the side button & volume up button together and quickly release it to capture the Screenshot.

  • Use Emergency-SOS (All regions except India)

For regions except for India for using Emergency-SOS, press and hold the side button and either volume button until the slider appears and then drag Emergency-SOS.

  • Use Emergency-SOS (In India)

You can click the side button three times. If you have turned on Accessibility Control, then you can simultaneously click and hold the side button and either volume button until the slider appears then drag it to use Emergency-SOS.

  • Turn off

To turn off your iPhone, you can press and hold the side button and either press the volume button until the slider appears. Drag top slider to power off your iPhone. You can also shut down your iPhone by going to Settings>General>Shut down.

  • Force Restart

To force restart your iPhone, press and release the volume up button, press and release the volume down button, press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.
